The reason for my email this morning is to encourage you to join us for our 5th Annual Women Build event. When I first started at Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, it was only our 2nd Annual event, and I have seen this event grow by leaps and bounds each year since. This year, my Board of Directors has really put the challenge on…5 years of Women Build means our fundraising goal should be a big number, $50,000. This number would represent the single largest fundraising amount for our Women Build program. Personally, I couldn’t think of a better time to announce that registration is open. As you know I am asking that each participant raise $250 per day of volunteering. With family and friend events coming up, why not ask for a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley through your Women Build fundraising page instead of a gift? Tell potential donors that this year’s focus for Women Build is centered around International Women’s Day (Friday, March 8th).
Enclosed is a video that I would like you to watch (https://youtu.be/K7xvSHKYlQc) . It is 5 minutes, but the message is powerful. The reason why I love the job I do is portrayed in this video. This is a partner family located within Chicagoland Habitat, the umbrella organization which our affiliate is a part of. The donations raised on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley through Women Build are a generational gift. Once we sell a partner family a home, they have a mortgage payment that comes back to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, which then is put towards the expense of a new home for a new partner family…the cycle just continues!! Your donation continues to go beyond just one partner family. The reason for my email this morning is to encourage you to join us for our 5th Annual Women Build event.
